Re: red tail black shark?

Well I dont know much about serpae tetras but I do know that red tail black shark (rtbs) are semi to aggresive fish and if it's the biggest fish in you tank it will be the boss so I am thinking no.

Re: red tail black shark?

I would advise againt a red tail to be honest, i had one and he attacked everything including my serpae tetras, he also chased all the bigger boys round the tank ........he now has a new owner !

Re: red tail black shark?

Depends on the fish mine only gets aggressive at feeding time and usually doesnt bother anyone unless they go into his favourite spot. then he'll chase them out but that be the end of it

i have my RTBS with 6 cebra danios 6 tiger barbs or sumatra barbs, 4 rosy barbs and soe others, all of the listed are smaller than the RTBS and since i bought it i didnt have any kind of trouble with them, he cheased them but just for seconds, then he return to his favorite place.

Maybe i just had a bad tempered one ...!...If you do get one just keep an eye on him ...and give him a little spot in the tank he can call home ...

Re: red tail black shark?

Thats true, they really need a cave/log to hide in and protect as their home. My shark has taken virtually the whole rock formations for himself, but when its not feeding time he doesnt seem to mind.

Should be fine.

My one, along with my rainbows used to attack me & like crawl along biting my arm, it was really really cool.

Re: red tail black shark?

I have to red-eye tetras that stay near the top. And my red-tail dosent really bother them at all.
