Semi-agressive tankmates?

I currently have 3 redtails in a 55 gallon (each 3-3.5 inches) and I just wanted to share a 'lil about how mine seem to get along... frisky mollies. Now to start I should mention I have a medium amount of cover in my tank so they don't see each other all the time... 2 largeish driftwood logs and a forest of 6 types of plants not counting algae... onions, long grass, short grass, hydrophillia, some ferns, 3 aluminum plants and a couple of the frilly ones (not big on proper names). Anyway, whenever 2 of the redtails get uppity with one another one or both of my male sailfin mollies charge in and begin displaying and trying to herd the poor, bewildered shark into a corner to mate. Anyway, not a normal behaviour, but it seems to keep the peace... and it's funny to watch.
Other tankmates are 2 of the small updise down catfish and 3 of the small rainbows... and the 2 perpetually pregnant female mollies of course. I net out the babies and transfer them to a 20 gallon grow out tank before trading them in for store credit... though I'm sure a few become fast food.

I dont know much about these fish (besides the mollies) BUT believe it or not time outs can work. Next time you see this happing take the aggressive fish out and put it in a breeder for 1 to 2 days and this should make the fish less aggressive (although this sometimes doent work)
