I am currently debating whether or not to buy a large red devil. The fish is large and beautiful but I am wondering if it is near its time...I would guess that it is about 10 inches and very full bodied. A few other websites mention that they live up to 10 years old but I thought they must live longer...also do they ever get too large or old to breed?

I think you can tell its age by the bump on its head. The larger the bump on is the older the fish may be, but this is only for males. for the females it must be a different story. Red devils usually do not have a cut of rate for breeding.. My other recommendation is to keep the red devil by itself because they are extreamly aggressive.
