I went to my LFS this week and to my happy surprise they had a tank of Bolivian Rams for sale. I bought one and I think he was a little stressed by the move and isn't showing much color right now. He isn't hiding anymore and is exploring the tank. Is there a general time frame for rams to color up if they aren't stressed? I bought some good quality flake food instead of cheap starter flake that came in packets with my tank so hopefully that will help. I will try and get a picture of him when I get home from work.

Congratulations on your new bolivian ram! We have two and we love them!

They do stress a bit, but I wouldn't be concerned. Try to give him some flake for a few days. He should be active and colored up in a day or so.

I was very excited, he was actually the last ram they had for sale. The store had about 20 or so and sold out in a week. I also have a feeling my tank lights might be washing his colors out a bit. Thanks for the advice!

Also, they show up brighter on bright substrate and dark on dark substrate. I hope you can post a pic soon. I love bolivians!
