One of my local fishstores got some small Electric Blue Rams and I decided to get one yesterday.
At least 24 hours have gone by and he doesn't seem as "bright" as he did at the store. I can only see some blue in his fins when the light hits him right.
I ask a few stores about it and got a couple different answers: It's the lighting (15W clear bulb); He still needs time to adjust.
The store I got him at said that they get more blue as they grow.
He seems to be active and is eating (fed him some frozen bloodworms today).
I was hoping to get more input on the lack of color and advice on what to do.

Congratulations on your new fishie baby! They're beautiful fish. They're also very sensitive to water conditions.

What is the pH, ammonia, nitrite and nitrate readings on the tank?

Maybe he just needs time to acclimatise fully.

Turned out to be the light. I found a store that sells screw in 50/50 fluorescent bulbs and it made a difference.

That's wonderful news! I hope you can post a picture of him. They're beautiful fish, but around here, they're too expensive.
