Bolivians Rams tankmates

I will have a 50 gallon tank fully cycle in a week.
I love the Bolivian Rams. I was palning also to get corys.
How many corys I can buy with a pair (or two) of Bolivian Rams.

Corys and bolivian rams usually get along really well. What type of corys were you looking at buying?

I think that rams are like other cichlids during spawning (very territorial), so I'm not sure if 50 gallons would be enough for two pairs, but hopefully another more knowledgeable member will be along shortly to verify that.

I was thinking about the regular bronze corys.
Why?

Some of the corys get to 1 1/2" and some get to 3", so I didn't want to give you bad information if you were looking at one of the larger corys.

If you did 10 corys-30"
2 rams-6"

You'd still have room for a shoal of schooling fish or if you wanted to add more corys than that, you wouldn't be overstocked.

The general (flexible depending on fish species) rule is 1" per gallon for newly set up aquariums.

Hope this helps! Bronze corys are nice-looking fish for sure.

Most of your tetras, rasboras, guppies, platys, etc. Bolivian Rams are more laid back than some of the other cichlids. Corydoras pretty much get along with any of your community, peaceful species, so you're wide open in options. Just pay attention to adult size and temperament and don't overstock.

I have a 29 gallon with a bolivian ram, 4 false julii corydoras, 2 MM platys and 5 dwarf neon rainbowfish.

Do you have anything particular in mind?

Bleeding Heart Tetra
Cochu's Blue Tetra
Bloodfin Tetra
Buenos Aires Tetra
Congo Tetra

thats all i can think of with the tetras, but any of those could work.

I think I will go for the tetras.
