| Electric Blue...Ram?? Ran across these today in the LFS. They looked simply otherworldly. Just such an eerie shimmer to them, amazing. Too bad they were $20 each.
I've never even heard of such a color morph before. Here's a link with some photos of some, really doesn't do them justice. The tank they were in had a dark bottom and strong lighting, they really glowed! https://www.aquascapeonline.com/prod...ue%20Ram%202.5 |

| Oh wow!!!!
It says they're not painted....dyed maybe and they're mincing words?
If it's natural, I want some.
Edit: Holy cow, that's a $30.00 fish. lol Guess I'll admire the picture. Last edited by Lucy; June 2nd, 2009 at 04:11 PM.

| Rams go for $6-8 each around here. Those are pretty but I really like the blues, oranges and blacks on regular rams. dark substrate will really make their colors pop.

| Not dyed, injected, or genetically modified. The electric blue color morph is a result of selective breeding.
Cool fish! |

| at my LFS, they sell them for $23 each. They are nice looking fish but I don't like that LFS (they over price, sell you fish without giving information for tank requirements, and tanks all look dirty) Anyway it's a great looking fish! |

Cool fish! | Yep! Good selective breeding.
I'd like to out cross one of these back to a very nice female German blue. |

| My LFS is selling them for $32 each... they are nice looking... but I couldn't pay $32 for one and I wouldn't be able to buy just one. |

| Was looking around today for some more info on these fish ..and came across one shop that was selling them for $69 each, or a pair for $100. (Australian $$'s)
The shop I buy all my fish from is owned by a guy who will spend hours with me, giving me all the info he can, and answering the many questions I have.
Its good to see that although he is there as a business and to make money ..he also cares very much! |

| These are stunning fish!!! The prices will be dropping down to normal RAM prices..eventually. The breeders were only sending males to lfs's to keep the prices up!!!. They are hard to sex when small and some females are getting out to other breeders now.Although they are incredibly colored neon blue, I personally dont think they match all the colors and shades of the standard GBR's. |

| They do look beautiful but I must admit I'm a sucker for the original ram colours! But it's always good to have more variety and more to choose from, that doesn't involve things such as tattooing, injecting etc. That stuff really makes me mad |

| Wow beautiful ram pictures!
I'm pretty sure that all ram cichlids perfer soft water and a pH around 7.4
I have kept ram cichlids before but of course fish age... and they get old and frail. I had to do a lot of extra care for the rams but it proved to work well in the end I have them in a separate tank now and it was very hard just to make sure that the fish wont get too stressed out when I put it in the new tank. |

| I have 2 of these stunners cost £17 each in the UK, and it's looking like I might have a male and female. Originally bought one of them who turned out the be a cory doras chaser so purchased a second who seems to have been distracted from the case and the 2 of them do look different to each other. |

| I saw the Electric Blue Rams in a planted show aquarium in my LFS. Those pictures do not do them justice. Once they get their full color, they actually look electrified! The glowed under the aquarium lights. If they weren't $20 each, I think I would have bought one or two. |
