On Mother's Day my husband had gotten a pair of
GBR's (among other fish) for me.
During the past week, I noticed they were being very territorial around a plant in my tank. I figured they were getting ready to spawn.
They were relentlessly stalking my
DG and picking at him but were content to just chase the smaller fish away.
Poor Rommy the Dwarf Gourami, not that he didn't fight back at times. I felt bad for him and added more plants and that seemed to help.
Well, yesterday I noticed something wrong with the male GBR's mouth, looked like an injury. He was breathing heavy and not active.
Anyway, he was gone this morning.
I don't think I'll replace him, my tank is back to being peaceful again.
