Are you attempting to get a breeding pair? If so, I don't think that there is any guarentee that picking up a male and female, that they will breed. You'd be better off getting a few of each sex, waiting for them to pair off themselves, and then rehome the remaining (if neccessary).
If you are just concerned about a peaceful setting, don't care whether or not they breed, but just want them to get along well then I would say just getting (1) of each would be okay. My experience is that even a non-breeding m/f pair will live peacefully together. |
