| German Blue Ram Cichlid . Just a quick question. Has anyone tried to put German Blue Ram Cichlid in a community tank? (Mollies, Angels, Rainbows, Loach, tetras) I like them but read the info but don't especifies about it.
Thanks |

| Info on compatibility always seem to be conflicting depending on who you ask. I want to put Blood Parrots in with my angles but people tell me their not compatibly while others who keep both and one compatibility chart says yes, another says caution. Seems the best info are from those that actually have a history of keeping the fish combination you looking for. |

| Yes. I kept a pair in my tank with shrimp tetra clown loaches kuhli loaches and a 4" angel. I moved them after they spawned a couple times and kept them in a 10g with a pair of otos trying to raise some babies.
The only time they were even semi aggressive was around their eggs. |

Thanks | I had them in my 55g community with Discus, Angel fish, Australian rainbows, Cardinal tetras. Ive had them before in other tanks with tetras, I have never had any problems with them. They pretty much hang out among themselves at the lower end of the tank and only seem to enjoy chasing each other around and not other fish. |

| I think you'll need to be careful of your pH, since you previously kept a.cichlids in the tank. But another forum has members who've kept them in community tanks forever and they're great, just require very clean water. |

GBRs prefer a lower PH and acidic, soft water. They can do ok at a neutral Ph, but I dont think that I would keep them at a high PH level tho. |

| I have a male and female GBR in my 75 with large angels, rummynose, otos, a bn pleco and cories. No problems at all. Of course if you have done something to keep your ph up for the cichlids that won't make the rams happy. |

| I lowered the Ph on the tank before I put my community fish on the tank about 3 weeks ago. Ph is 7.4 right now and I have Softwater anyway straight from tap. Well it looks like I'll be doing some shopping soon. haaha |

| I keep a blue ram and a gold ram in my community 30. They do well and will even eat flakes from the surface along with the swords and guppies. They can get a little territorial at feeding time especially when a sinking pellet is involved, but they never do any real harm.
Now I do know mine really hate Cardinal Tetras. 5 of them lasted a day inside my tank. Something to do with their color pattern. It sets off the rams. |
