Hi! I recently discovered that our rams laid eggs and I'm in need of some help in this whole process because I've never bred GBRs before. I wasn't expecting this as they have only been in the community a few weeks and didn't seem to have really paired off. Also, they are kind of an odd pair. Our female is a regular GBR and the male is a "balloon" or "angel" GBR.

They are currently in a 55 gallon community tank with 6 neon tetras, 2 rainbows, and 4 corys. I have an old 10 gallon tank that I could possibly separate them in. Would this be sufficient?

(They do seem to be doing well though. The male is always in the cave guarding the eggs while the female is outside standing watch...)

If i were you i would leave them as they are for now, but once the fry become free swimming try and catch just the fry and move them into the 10G
