| Could i keep a pair of rams? I understand it is recommended that a pair of german blue rams need atleast 20 Gallons.
I was wondering if i kept on top of my water changes and had only the pair of rams in the tank, could i keep them in a 15G? |

| Floor space is the most important thing...so even for a 20 gal I would recommend a 20L.
If you do try it, get a m/f pair and make sure there are more hiding places than fish, and lots of line of sight breaks. As long as you practice good aquarium maintenance they should be fine on that end...two alone isn't overstocking the tank in that regard. It's more of a territory issue. |

| Ok...I thought maybe if it was that extra gallon would help you.. ..lol.
If you don't end up with the rams...Take a look at these guys..This is what I put in my 16 gallon..They can be in 15gallons..They are a very neat fish, and very pretty too IMO...Here is the link..... http://www.cichlid-forum.com/articles/n_brichardi.php Last edited by CHoffman; March 1st, 2009 at 12:31 PM.

| I think 2 rams would be more than ok, if it's a male/female. Keep an eye out for aggression if any starts to happen.
How do you find space for so many tanks? |

| personally i think it would be a bit cramped having the two in there it wouldn't be overstocked but i'd be worried about aggression. it would probably be okay if they used more of the aquarium but they really stay in the bottom section. |

| Il try a pair but il make the tank has lots of places where they can break line of sight, and if worst comes to worst i will act ASAP
edit* Ive got plenty of time to arrange and decide as i only filled the tank with water today .
Just a quick Question, is it possible to lower the pH of water without using chemicals? Last edited by platy ben; March 1st, 2009 at 01:54 PM.

| Breaking line of sight really isn't an issue. It's that there isn't enough swimming room. |

| Another thing to think about with blue rams is they do a lot better in an older established tank...you might want to wait until your tank has been running awhile. |
