As I was watching my aquarium enjoying my saturday morning I earned a completly new appreciation for my GBRs. I had noticed that one of the females was picking up what appeared to be a small piece of gravel or
driftwood in her mouth, crushing it up and spitting it back out. It wasn't the behavior that got me interested but more the piece of w/e the ram was messing with. So I crept closer to the tank to get a better look and discovered it was a baby snail that ended up becoming breakfast for my ram. I had not known or heard about rams eating snails but am delighted to see this as I have a fully planted tank and have done my best thus far to keep unwanted snails out. I know loaches are known for this but has anyone else with GBRs or Bolivians had the same experience?
I LOVE MY RAMS!!
