New GBR on bottom of tank,

I purchased a GBR on Saturday 3 days ago, and he has been hiding on the bottom of the tank since. He is very skittish and does not move around the tank much. He has no visible signs of sickness. He eats VERY little, maybe one or two blood worms that may fall pass the other fish and next to him at the bottom. If another fish swims by him he swims right back to his cave. Do you think he is stressed, sick OR should I give him more time to become comfortable in my new tank.

Congrats on your new GBR! Your little one is probably just acclimating to its new surroundings. GBRs tend to stay around the bottom area of the tank in between plants, rocks, driftwoods etc. They are shy and will hide when you come to the front of the tank. Eventually it will feel more secure to venture out more often. But for the most part they just tend to hang out around the bottom of the tank. Im sure your little one is fine.

GBRs are also very sensitive to water conditions and may not be acclimating as well as your other fish have, he'll probably perk up after a few days or so, just keep a close watch on him and he'll probably be fine
