Will a few Bolivians Work?

i currently have a 20 gallon tank with 2 Pearl Gourami, Common Pleco, 5 Beunos Aires Tetra, 4 Bleeding Heart tetra, 2 Male Guppies and 3 Dwarf Neon Rainbows. I was at My LFS today and fell in love with some bolivian Rams, i no i am currently overstocked but am Hopefully getting a 60-70 gallon tank from "santa", would 2 Bolivian Rams work?

Thanks,
Jack

P.S i am also thinking of getting a red tail shark.

in the 60-70 gallon tank yes, bolivian rams could work, but they are pretty shy fish and should provide them with cave and plants to hide in.

But you are really overstocked right now. If i could suggest something, you should rehome your pleco. Cool as they are and as helpful as they can be with algae, he'll grow VERY fast and VERRYY big (up to 18" long). I made the same mistake. I started with a 2" long common pleco in a 20 gallon tank and he was over half a foot long in 3 months. Plus, they are very messy and add alot to the bioload in the aquarium.

the bolivian rams could work in a 60-70 gallon tank, but no more fish for now

i had to get someone to drag me away because i knew i couldnt get anymore fish , i have read that a 70 gallon aquarium is fine for a common pleco though? :s

how many Rams Could i have with my current stock list in a 70 gallon? i dont want to many but i would like more than one

Yup. Wait for Santa to make his rounds before adding any new fish. And even if you do get a new tank, I would still rehome the pleco, because even though the 'one inch of fish per gallon' rule permits it, they need about 100 gallons to be truly happy. And are red tailed sharks really aggressive, or am I making that up completely.
EDIT: Well, I googled red tailed sharks and I wouldn't recommend them. They aren't good for community tanks and will most likely eat your tetras and things. As to the number of rams, I think I read somewhere that you shouldn't keep more than a few in a large tank, because they get aggressive, especially if you end up with a male and a female at spawning time. Someone else may be able to give you an exact number though.

Add them in singles or in mating pairs

i would really like to disagree with the comment that a red tailed shark would eat tetras. A RTBS will claim its own territory in the tank. Then depending on the individual nature of the fish it will defend that territory. Mine just pushes others away with his tail. Other RTBS can chase and harass other fish. If your tank space allows it and you get rams and RTBS I would suggest placing caves at opposite ends of the tank so they can have their own territory in peace. Jen.
