Aggresive Blue Ram!

My tank consists of these fish a few days back
Neon tetras x6
one mollie
A pleco
And a shrimp
Over due course i bought a few more fish and all was well
I bought 6 more tetras and let them set in for a few days then bought a black ghostknife fish as i learned on here that bettas arent really great mixer's or could limit your tank choices but ive got a 7g tank cycling as we speak then im going to search for one in the next 5 days or so
I bought 3 yellow mollies (sorry forget the right name for them )
And i added the three beautys into the tank and then the german ram started attacking the mollies including the ones i had previously,
Its a bit concerning as i want them to settle in but the German Blue ram is not allowing them to do so.

Ive put the German ram in a bag with water from the tank and let him sit in there for awhile while floating (1hour) and Released him back in to see if he would calm down. But he has yet to do so and im thinking of taking him back to the store where i got him from.

He has plenty of hiding place's and all my other fish have set in great, Levels are fine and the size is 29g plenty of foiliage etc

Is this just a phase of showing the rest who is boss?

Thanks

Btw its my first post here and have used this site ever since i started keeping fish which was about 2 months ago and its help heaps and bounds

Welcome to FishLore! Glad the site has been a help.
What comes to mind is that Rams are very territorial and when you added the Ghostknife and other new fish his territory was invaded.
what you may want to try is taking it out. Re-arranging the hiding places, make the bottom look somewhat different, maybe add a hiding place(you don't have to tear the whole tank apart)
I was going to suggest adding a couple of rams of the opposite sex to divert his/her attention but your tank is pretty full considering the ghost knife can get to be 25 inches.
Just some thoughts.

Yea the tank is at max in my opinion and its just the way i want it - my next goal will be to add some real plants and then i can be happy with a living tank.

The ghost fish is about 2-3 inches big right now and was told he wont grow more then 7 - 8 " but as we know all fish are diffrent and will just have to wait and see.He seems to have settled in a bit now with the reduced lighting on

and the ghost fish is sooo cheeky he sleeps in the log with a pleco and they come out together and go in together.

But the ram is becoming at bit more passive and all the fish are mingling nicely so perhaps i wont take the little bugger back - also he is very freindly when i put my hand in and swims up to it so i wouldnt want to loose my most timid fish!

Ive asked my mother to keep an eye on the temperture and watch him while im gone for the night lets hope i dont come home to a suprise 2moz

As butterfly said, rearranging the tank would be a good idea, then all of the fish would be able to find their own territories and all would learn where they are and are not welcome in the aquarium

The tank sounds really cool. Rams are not timid fish but they are very intelligent and active.
