Could I put a male and female pair of GBR in my 10g by themselves?

I want a pair so bad. I know that 2 males will just fight, and any more fish will pollute the water (and I have read that they are very paticular fish about their water quality thats why the just 2 fish unless I got a smaller pleco that didn't get bigger than 4 inches).

BN plecos stay small.
2 in a ten, with good filtration and lots of line of sight breakers, should be ok.

Thats what I would have thought... I am getting a biowheel before I put them in it (also I figured as many water changes/vaccuming as I do the tank should stay perfect for them. If not... My hubby has already started plans for another tank (either a 29 or 46 gallon bowfront) due to the peacock africans and the mbuna africans not getting alont so we are going to put the peacocks in a new tank, (victory is mine! i knew I could get him hooked before long.. now he is planing more tanks.) My point is if the GBR's don't work in the 10g I know I can pawn him into another 29g...
We had oringianally planned a GBR tank w/ community fish then got impressed w/ the african cichlids, I still want GBR's though.

A pair should be ok. The male might constantly harass te female to breed. I'd just give a lot of hiding places for the female or have a tank divider in hand.

Oh wait...do you want to put GBRs in your Guppy Tank? It is not a good idea...especially when you have a breeding pair!

Yes, however the guppies are moving away. I found all of my guppies a home so I could have the tank clear for something else. (one of my moms friends offered to buy them from me... I said he could have them).

i have a pair of breeding GBR's. i can always tell when they are getting ready to breed because the male chases the female, so make sure she can get away.
