I lost my boy a few days ago. When I got him, he had a small wound on his side, looked like a couple missing scales, and after the trip over here, he developed fungus.

Everyone else is fine, water's fine. My female is very beautiful now, she's colored up nicely. I just wish I still had her mate.

Does anyone know if I got another male, would she accept him as a mate? Maybe? I've heard that they are hard to pair up, but I haven't actually heard of anyone's personal experience with it.

sorry to hear you lost your guy. I really see no problem in bringing in another. They will or will not pair up, but at least they will have the company of each other. As long as its a female and a male, you wont have that aggression like you would have with two males. Any way you can get a male and another female as well? It will up your odds of a pair.

Hmm, I could, but I will likely be some time before I am able to. I'm at college right now, and the only LFS in town never seems to carry normal rams, always balloons. I don't like balloons, I think they look weird, and suspect that it is at least somewhat unhealthy.

When spring break comes around though....
