I bought a Paired Ram from LFS few months ago. They have spawned a few times, but none were successful. The male constanly harrasses the female and my 30 gal tank is not big enough for it to hide, though it has lot of plants and a big driftwood.

I am thinking about getting a second female to reduce the harrassement. Ofcourse the problems that might arise from that are:
(i) Present female attacking the new female.
(ii) Or even worse - Male might not pair-off with the second female and attacks it too.

Any suggestions?

I would get another female. It will help to cut down on the aggression towards the lone female in the tank and give it a break.
