Would 4 neons fit?
Would about 4-5 neon rainbowfish fit into my 37 gallon tank? I saw some today at a pet store and the person working had no idea what they were(thought they were tetras).

Re: Would 4 neons fit?
Hi Tom ,do you mean Dwarf Neon's ,if so they only grow to about 2.5"-3" so that will not be a problem and like all Rainbows they are very peacefull towards other tank mates .
Have a look at these Ornate Rainbows they grow to about the same size but i think they look better but thats just me.

Re: Would 4 neons fit?
I already picked them up yesterday, I went to do some research in the books they had at the LFS, and found they would be fine in the tank since the ones I got grow to be about 2". I got 3 and they are schooling with my lemon tetras at the moment. They are a neon blue with bright red fins. They make a nice addition to the tank. Are those yours?

I got 3 and am planning on getting more after the treatment of the pleco is done in a week or so. I think I have 2 females and 1 male at the moment.

Re: Would 4 neons fit?
So Boff, do you know where to get the Ornate Rainbows?
Tom, did you get any more of the Neon Rainbows? How are they doing? My LFS has some in stock now, and I'll be going in in two day, and plan to get some to add to my new 55 G I'm setting up. It is all set up , cycling (Bio-Spira added), been going now for a week with 4 Rainbow Platys which are doing well. Took readings today, and decided I can add a few more small fish.

Ya, I got 3 more yesterday along with 2 more lemon tetras. Before the rainbowfish, my dad was complaining about how little activity there was in the tank, but now it is constant movement. They are doing fine today, but they were just introduced yesterday.

Re: Would 4 neons fit?
I'm glad you did get more, and that they are making your tank more interesting. I like that even though they move around a lot, it isn't agressive movement. They don't pick on other fish, and I have never lost even the smallest fish from having them together with rainbows. Have fun!

Re: Would 4 neons fit?
Thanks. They seem to stress out my angels a little though with all the activity and they are not used to that. They should get used to it in the future though.

Thanks! Yesterday I was at my LFS and picked up 5 Dwarf Neon Rainbows! I also got 3 Panda Corys, all to go in a 55 gal with my Rainbow Platys! Lovely color combo! Now, to see if any fry manage to survive. The rainbows are very active, but I'm hoping they are small enough not to impact the fry too hard.

Ah, OK. So they're not as tiny as neon tetras. That's how I imagined them to be for some reason.
