Spooked!

I've had 5 dwarf rainbows for 7 months now.
A little over a month ago, I had done some restocking and removed a few fish and ended up essentially uprooting all my plants and decorations trying to catch the buggers. Caused a mess.
Obviously, this stressed my fish out. But for some reason the rainbows never seem to have recovered. Anytime I get close to the tank, their bellies turn that pale white stress color and dart away - huddled in the corner under some plants. You would think by now they wouldn't still hate me?
I've checked the water parameters regularly, and they are fine (0-0-10). I've been regularly dosing with vita chem and offering frozen food daily (which they gobble up after I walk away). I've upped the amount of water changes I do on the tank too.
Now yesteday, I find one of them has died. And this all started when I caused a ruckus in the tank.

Just wished I had some idea what was going on, ugh!

Hi John,
Sorry, I don't have any insite into what is going on. My only guess would be that you caused a nitrite or nitrate spike by uprooting debri and waste from the gravel when you took out your plants. This has happened to me before. But since your water parameters are fine, I don't really know what to tell you. I am sorry you lost one of them, and I hope someone can help you get to the bottom of this.
