I've seen it. It's not that rare, but not ridiculously common. I bet your local Maidenhead aquatics will have some - they usually have everything!

ThreadFin/FeatherFin Rainbows

I'm in the U.S and I am the proud owner of 4 of these beautys. They are simply wonderful fish for any community tank. The males are always showing off. Their a very hardy fish.

I bought one from my local Maidenhead Aquatics in Swindon! We have two MHA's but this is the only one I've ever seen. It was in a tank full of Celebes Rainbows and wasn't labelled. It looked cool so I bought it only then to try and find out what it is.

At first it was quite timid, now it always flared its dorsal to show off

edit: Although they're happier in groups, I have only ever seen the one, and it's more than happy shoaling with my harlequins

I found eggs on a moss ball from my Thread fins. I kept an eye on them but not close enough. Next thing I see are a couple of fry. I couldn't get them out quick enough, they done disappeared. I'm so bumbed cause the female has since died. Now I have 3 males and am looking for more.
I'm also very much into the Celebes Rainbows. I have 3 at the moment in my 20g brackish tank. I do believe one is a female. Keeping my fingers crossed for sure.
