Im guessing there a type of rainbow fish.

Rainbows need schools and a large tank they are active swimmers.

I wouldnt bother buying more fish untill you find out what to do with your balas

Red Rainbow fish is the Australian rainbows. The red are usually called "Salmon" or Red. They are more expensive than the A.rainbow Splendida, the more common rainbows. You can find some very nice commons in Petsmart and stores like that, at less than three dollars a piece. I was lucky to find a gorgeous splendida from another river region that has great color and pattern on the fins. I have also had Reds, Salmon, Turquois Blues as well as Bosemans. The fancier the rainbow, the harder it was for me to keep. They like a pH higher than what I have, but my three comman's have been with me for over a year now.
If you order them online, you will have a large shipping cost as well as the expense of the fish. They are not cheap, some places less than others but I never paid less than 12.00 for mine and up to 15.00 for Bo's.
