Different Species

Ok so I just got back from petsmart. They had all their Rainbows on sale at half off "clearance" is you will. I immediately came home and started researching their care. I found a bunch of different types and colors, but no concise list of them with pics. Does anyone know a good site I can visit to see all the different kinds. Thanks.

I am farmiliar with 43 Rainbow fish species.
the number 1 fish grow up to 2 inches long.
The number 2 fish grow up to 4 inches long.
The number 3 fish grow larger than 4 inches long.
They all can be kept in a community tank with similar sized fish, except the threadfin who is delicate and should be kept in a species only tank.

1. threadfin, Dwarf neon, Pygmy/whitefin, McCulloch's.

2. Bulolo, Highlands, Cairns, spotted, Ramu, Arfak, Lakamora, Batanta island, Fly River, Exquisite, Blackbanded, Waterfall Creek, Slender, Paupan, Lake Eacham, Ornate.

3. Axelrod's, Bleher's, Barred, Red, Sepik, fringefin,Lake wanam, Northern, Goldie River, Lake Tebera, Sorong, Boeseman's, Lake kutuba, Mountain, Banded, Crimson spotted, Splendid, parkinson's.

I am sorry I don't have any pics, but in my opinion they are all beautiful!!

Petsmart usually carries one type of rainbow, the more common M. Splendida, the Eastern rainbow. I have bought mine from there all the time. I was lucky once to find a few of the rainbow tetie(sp?) that has beautiful markings on the fins.
My rainbows are very active and swim all over the place. They are very social fish and love to hang out with each other. They are very peaceful towards any of the other fish I have in the tank. They grow pretty large and my guys are a little over a year old now and measure close to 5 inches.

They had two when I last checked, but I am sure they are gone now. I am working on getting the tank set up properly for the species. I have had really good luck rehoming all my molly fry through craigslist, so there is now room in the tank.
