Bosemani are great rainbows to keep, just remember that they like their water a bit cooler than others. It makes all the difference in the world with them. A temp of no higher than say 77 would be great!

I have 3 Boseman's and they seem quite happy. I would really liked to have 5, but then I wouldn't have room for anything else. One day when I get a bigger tank...

Wait until you see those guys eat! They are like pigs with fins!

I have a species tank with 6 Splendida Australian rainbows ( very similar to Bosemani) and 10 Preacox. They are definetly shoaling fish. When I started the tank, I had 3 of each - and they seemed ok, but when I added to each shoal - it was like Christmas...they are so active and fun to watch interact with each other. So IMO, it is the difference between being ok and thriving.

And jdhef is correct for sure -- they are like pirhanna when they eat!! So funny!

I also ditto Kate's opinion of a lower temp.

Good luck with them.

PS: they like their water very, very clean.....

Hi PlatyBen
If you ever wonder what the conversion is, there is a conversion box at the bottom of the page to help with that, it also covers liters to gallons as well.

SO true...
their aggressive eating habits has me rethinking my community tank. They may get along fine with other fish, but we must remember the slow moving and eating companions. I almost always have to feed that tank double just to make sure the other fish are getting theirs. Even with that the rainbows really do hog all the food.
But I love these fish and their active nature.
