hey, ive been asking alot of questins tonight due to the fact I went to the LPS today, I'm just trying to get my stocking list set when I do add fish to my new 20 gallon. alright, I saw rainbow fish today and I dont know anything about these guys, So i was wondering If one be okay in my tank, are they a schooling fish, and how big do they grow? thanks!

Rainbowfish get 4-6 inches long. They are a schooling fish, but they need a tank of 40 gallons or more since they are extremely active. I would look into dwarf rainbowfish (praecox). They only get 2-3 inches and they are very pretty. Here is a link:

thanks again MissMTS! I will try to find them at my LPS, but if not then I'll probably just put a little school of some sort of tetra in there or some other fish... I'm horrible at making desicions. thanks again!

Once I bought Dwarf Neon Rainbows (Preacox) from Walmart . They did good - hardy fish.

ya, i wouldnt expevt a Wal-mart to have fish tlike that, all they usually have are the basic ones, but they do have green spotted puffers and dragon fish at mine!
