Anybody ever seen these?

I was at the store yesterday and saw some fry of them in their tank and I spoke with one of the managers and he said he would sell them to me for $0.10 a piece. I will raise them and then maybe give them to the store for store credit.

P.S. They are regularly about $12 each

I saw a few more when I was there the other day, but I didn't have any of my supplies to catch them and the guy that I had asked about it wasn't there either. I will try and see when I can go over and get some more. The one that I have is doing so good right now, I always see a full belly on the little guy(or girl).

Just an update, I am able to see some yellow on the fins and the brilliant blue eyes are still brilliant and beautiful. I went back the other day and they had restocked the tank with some more of them and the fry was gone, probably eaten by the adults. I can now only hope that those ones breed and the eggs hatch so I can go and get some more.

Not yet. They are too small and I don't have a proper tank for them. I think that if I have them in a large tank but still in the net, they get the benifits of the large tank, and they don't have a risk of being eaten.

It is about 1/4-3/8" long, so for my camera, that is too small right now sadly.

They were $6.99 each. I had asked them if they could get them and when we went in there they were She said they had tried to call which is very possible the way I work.
The first pic is of the 2 males
The second - male in front female in back.
They are still small should get to 2-1/2 inch (5-6cm)
I love how they school with the Threadfins(which I can't get a good pic of aarrrgghh)

That's not fair, you pay $6 and I have to pay something like $15-20 for them.

Probably a bit late but the common name for these over here is Forktail Blue-eye.

Yes there forktail blue eyes. I think most if not all the blue eye are brackish. The blue eye rainbows are so cool looking, but i don't have any cuz they are brackish & i have enough to take care of as it is. good luck with them, I hope they do well for you.

I saw similar rainbows in one of my local shops and had to ask about them. The guy that worked there called them celestial rainbows and they were $12 each or a trio for $29. Had it not been another week until payday I would have got a few. Hopefully they will still be there next Monday.
