what to put into my new tank...

I have a rainbow shark, a clown pleco, 4 guppys, and a dawarf frog in a ten gallon, and I just recently got a 55 gallon. I am wondering what type of fish to put into the new tank, but i was thinking of something like this.

1 rainbow shark
2 pleco (1 clown pleco)
1 dawarf frog
4 guppys
2 or 3 angels
1 or 2 parrot fish

I am not sure about the parrot fish... any other suggestions for a medium sized friendly colorful fish? Does this sound like a good tank combination?

tank sounds fun but id drop one plec...no need for 2 in a 55 gal..and the shark may not tolerate 2 anyhow...but id keep the froggie in the 10 gal ....

i'd also drop the third angel, for angels, two is a pair but three is a crowd. what could end up happening is that two of the angels will pair off and start spawning, and the third would get terrorized.

100% agree with Alex about the Angels, if you want something else maybe a Gourami would work, i have a Pearl with 2 Angels and they get on fine. If your looking for colour a Golden Gourami might be quite good

I need to get a second pleco because the clown pleco species stays relativly small. In a 55 gallon i would need at least a second clown pleco if not a pleco species thats gets large.

Theres no need for a second pleco but go for it if you want to, just add them at the same time so no one is seen as an 'intruder' and add the Shark after the Plecos, maybe after everything.

Always add the shark last... they can make life miserable if you don't.

to clarify if you go with the stocking above

Quote:
1 rainbow shark
2 pleco (1 clown pleco)
1 dawarf frog
4 guppys
2 or 3 angels
1 or 2 parrot fish
i'd add the fish in this order
1. frog and guppies
2. BR parrots
3. pleco
4. angel(s)
5. shark

that should give you the least amount of aggression, and give everybody sometime to grow and establish before the shark comes in

I'm no expert but i'd say the BRp and angels will eat the guppies.By putting the RBs on the bottom you limit your stocking options. The BRp get 8-12" or more. I would do a species tank if i chose BRp's.

i think that the shape of the BR parrots mouth keeps them from eating anyone, especially if buying as juveniles. the angels could definitely eat them, but adding them second to last (and ensuring that you get them as juvies) will also help to prevent that. however, ultimately don't be TOO shocked if you notice a guppy missing one morning
