Blue White Fin Rainbow Shark

Well i just made the mistake of not reading up on what i was buying before i got them. I was just too excited and happend to be at the local pet shop. Can't help it sometimes but that is never a good excuse. I got two Blue White Fin Rainbow Shark's then got on here and read that you shouldnt have 2 but more like 1 or a bunch and not just two. Second mistake was that i said "Let me get that really small one so i can see his growth more" kinda like getting a puppy instead of a mature dog. And the 2nd one he just scooped up a larger one, the small one is only almost 1" and the biger is about 2" i also have two 4" Leopard Pleco's. Should i worry about them eventualy growing up and killing my Pleco's?

i do have some other fish but the names i do not know. The reciept said a name that did not match pictures on the internet. "i threw the reciept away about 6 month's ago". they are clear fish and have a black dot behind the gills kind of like a Bluegill and you can see there spine go all the way to the end of there tail and on the tail they have a huge black diamond very dark black. there eyes are normal, just green. I have 3 of them Anyone know what these are called?

So the Blue white fin sharks/rainbow shark's have been in the tank for about 8 hours and i dont expect them to be teritorial yet but like you say as they get older they will. Well as much as i probly have contraversial fish together in a tank..... there happens to be two more that should have never been there. 2 Beta fish same with the sharks. 1 is okay but 2 they will never work out.. yet somehow they have both got along for 4 months with no problems. I expect them to be dead in the morning from the sharks.

So any suggestion's or comments on my terriable collection? It's like iv started a fight club by accident but the fish are too happy to care about each other and i rarely see any chassing any except the ones i can't name and they onle chase there own kind for a second or two and not too often.

Re: Blue White Fin Rainbow Shark

You are fine!

If the bettas have gotten along that long they will probably continue to.

The rainbow sharks shouldn't harass the plecos at all.

The unidentified fish sounds like a tetra of some sort.

Your tank sounds fine, you accidentally did alright, huh?

Infact, you didn't even manage to overstock the tank!

Rainbow shark are not as aggressive as you seem to think. They are usually aggressive to their own kind only, but in a 55g with proper line-of-sight breaking objects that should not be an issue.
