Re: My setup
I've had my rainbow with Mollies and one was fine.. the other was a little aggressive but with his own space he wasn't violent. Although I have a RedTail that could not be with anyone and now lives with a jack dempsey and holds his own. I've also kept a timid rainbow with 3 female and one male betta. The sharks do need the aeration and filtration the betta's do not. My setup caused the male to notice the females rather than the rainbow and the rainbow claimed the bottom and was ok. After the male selected his mate and killed the other two, he went after the shark and had to be moved. So i guess it's all up to circumstances and certain fish, just may not be recommended. If you do try it be prepared to lose a fish or see them at their best. Matching the right territorial fish has brought out the best colors in my fish, but i've lost a few along the way.
Good Luck.
