ghost shrimp cant hurt my puffer right..its just their bigger then him so im making sure...hes curious of them...but backs off if he gets a little close i have three in the 5 g tank. will he get used to them just put them in half hour ago? i heard sometimes dwarf puffers will kill the ghost shrimp ?(i dont care if he does) just want to make sure the reverse cant happen..dont know much about these shrimp except their cheap and ugly and make good tankmates for puffers...do they help clean the tank?

Re: is my puffer scared of ghost shrimp?

They will clean the tank a bit, and are said to be a 50/50 "good" tank mate for puffers. Either he will grow to ignore them or eat them. And you don't have to worry much about the puffers, they will take on fish 3 times their size and win. They can be voracious when they need to be. Now when he's young is the time to try take mates like this. Once they get older they get much more aggressive and trying something new at that point has a much less chance of success.

yea, that little guy is good to go. hopefully he won't ever get in the mood for a shrimp dinner and they can be good tankmates.

Re: is my puffer scared of ghost shrimp?

hes a little sketchy about them still..not that he'll hide from them and he'll move right past them...but i dont think he likes when they feel him with their long tentacle things..he gets a little freaked..but he's doing fine... i want to get some cherry shrimp instead though..cuz their prettier..it really just shows how diverse their personalities r.. when he sees me taking out food he gets so excited he definetly knows its so cute!
