my little puffer i got today, was fine and active. i just checked on him right now and turned on his light. He was on his plant. Do puffers sleep. i disturbed him with my hand and he swam away but then just layed on the bottom of his tank..do puffers sleep. I thought i knew a lot about puffers and i did research on them a bit, just i guess not the important stuff. so do puffers sleep, and rest? I dont want him to die

i think he's alright.. just that was probably his way of saying "i'm tired.. just 5 more minutes, mom!"

Yes he is fine. They sleep on their favorite plants.

o ok i noticed that he would go up to his plant and sleep on it..its so cute

They are VERY neat fish. They are kinda like puppies in water....lol...but no petting!

puffers sound like bettas.. sometimes they sleep so soundly, you get worried they're dead.

they are like puppies hehe thats what i love bout him..hes still kinda scarred of the ghost shrimp so i might replace them with nicer more expensive shrimp since i know he wont eat them

it's on our to-get list.. when we find a place for more tanks.. it's been interesting finding spots for these 9 tanks and we need a grow-out tank (and place for it) for the mahachai fry.. plus we may be moving soon, so new fish will have to wait until after the move.. i'd like to get one in a 2.5g tank (easier to find room for) but that might be too small for the puffer to be happy in.

It's strange, mine do the same thing. They look like they are just hanging off of the plant or whatever
they decide to lean up aganist!!! I guess you could say, "they are hanging out"....lol!!
