Probably not.

The only thing I could imagine are a school of SA puffers and some of the more small and mild SA cichlids, but I wouldn't risk it.

Who would you say was in danger? The chilids or the puff?

lol, possibly both! puffers generally don't get along very well with other species, and cichlids can be very aggressive especially when spawning. i'd recommend keeping to one or the other in a particular tank

my red eye puffer ate 3 that i had in the tank
