Dwarf Puffer diet

Ok, I have a 10 gal tank and i want to turn it into a dwarf puffer tank (with ottos) i wondering if dwarf puffers would be able to eat earthworms or nightcrawlers. those are the kind of worms u find commonly where i live, i know that puffers can be picky and buying them shrimp and bloodworms all the time can be expensive and i was wondering if earthworms or nightcrawlers would be an acceptable alternative.

Thanks

They would love earthworms and it would be good for them. But their primary diet should be snails. Pond snails are the best. But your right buying brineshrimp can get expensive. but I couldn't stomach cutting up a worm so brineshrimp was always what I fed them in between snail feedings. You could hatch your own brineshrimp if you wanted.

I catch my own brineshrimp sometimes Then again, I live close to the GSL.

If you're catching anything live though, especially earthworms, you have to be extra careful. Is the dirt your worms are living on full of pesticides and other chemicals? You have to be very wary of such things.

Thank you! Its great to hear I can feed them that! As for snails, I was planning to give them snails every weekend. And I do not use pesticides on my lawn, even so, I'm going to clean the worms thoroughly before feeding. Thanks again for help!
