defrosting bloodworms

Hey Everyone

Thanks for all your help with how much and how often to feed. Puffy is really enjoying them - he comes right up to the eyedropper and takes the worms as soon as he can grab them. He also swims up to the surface and looks around whenever I come to watch him.

So here is my next question. What is the best way to defrost small portions of bloodworms I have the Hikari bloodworms in the little blister pouches. I have been cutting off little portions and defrosting them in a small amount of tank water, then feeding with an eyedropper. Any leftovers go into the fridge. My problem is that after 1-2 days, all the worms that are left turn brown or lose all their colour, and then Puffy won't eat them (which I am assuming is because they have gone bad). Is there an easier way to defrost a meal's worth of worms at a time??

Thanks

There is............. Get the other packets of blood worms that are just a ziploc bag full. Then you can break off as much or as little as you need.

I'd refreeze the leftovers, not just put them in the fridge.

The only problem with refreezing... Are they not like any meats after thewing they should not be refrozen because they will still go bad if not cooked befor refrezing...

When I used blood worms I'd just break off a piece large enough for one meal, put the frozen piece in a fish net and run water over them to thaw.

Hi: i have puff's and i feed b/w's in blister pack- i use a small pill bottle and defrost in fridge and feed with tweezer's and i find they keep great like that, don't go bad. I drain off any water from the worms once defrosted. Hope this helps you bella
