Converting to brackish

Okay, another day and another question --- so sorry. You guys have all been so helpful in making sure my new GSP has an ideal environment, so I'm very thankful.

1) I know that I need to premix the water and salt in buckets and let it sit to aerate for 24 hours before putting it in. However, I read on a different post that the temperature of the water in the bucket MUST be the same as the temp of the water in the tank. How can I do that? I can match it when I first fill the buckets but obviously 24 hours later, the temp will have dropped. For a 25% water change I will need two buckets and I certainly don't have two spare heaters.

2) Is 1.010 a good salinity to get my new puffer up to before settling for a year or so? Or should I stop it at 1.005?

Thanks again, so much! I'd be lost without this forum!

Honestly, at low salinity I just let it sit for a few hours until it's perfectly clear again. But for higher salinities I leave a heater and airstone in the bucket overnight.

I'd bring him to 1.010 definitely.

So to be clear, do I not need to worry about matching temps completely? Cause after a few hours the water is bound to be at least room temp but the tank is 82. Also, do you consider the 1.010 as a low enough salinity to just let sit for the few hours until clear?

Thanks again

Well, it'd be better to have it the same temp. If it's going to be lower, then add it slowly over the course of maybe an hour. If you're sure it's 100% clear, and you can see absolutely no particles, then go ahead.
