Here's a good one for you puffer lovers....

Well, my mom likes fish and all that, and she supports my fishkeeping to a certain extent, but she absolutely doesn't like my 10gal being setup on the bathroom counter. Well when we were at the LFS yesterday, she caught sight of the puffers. I don't know what kind they were, not dwarfs i remember that, but they were tiny and in the freshwater section of the store(idk if they were freshwater or brackish though, I know nothing of puffers) But when she saw those little puffers, she immediatly fell in love with them. She wants em in my 29 but I told her they might be brackish or something, I don't know if I can get them. But, then on the way home I come up with this marvelous idea, Put the puffers in the 10gal! Then my mom can't argue about it! So I slyly say "Hey mom, you liked those puffers didn't you.... You know, we could probobly get some smaller ones in the 10 gallon tank....I think dwarf puffers would fit..." So close. I was so close to getting her. But then she said "Oh no, I want to take down the ten gallon! No more fishies in there" I was SO close! And I would've gotton puffers! PUFFERS! *sigh* Well, I'll find a way to keep that tank, and I'll find a way to get those puffers. I now know my mom's true fish weakness....I thought it was guppies, but no, it's puffers....

If any fish can catch someone, it's a puffer

They can be quite nippy fish... what fish are you going to have in your tank? The most likely result of putting a DP in there would be some seriously nipped fins.

Oh, I'm getting 6 cardinal tetras, 3 ottos and a pearl gourami. I already have 6 zebra danios.(29gallon tank)

You know, it's really hard to say. I wouldn't recommend it, as it's quite likely that the DPs will nip your fishes fins like crazy, or even that if any of the fish are big enough then they'll swallow the poor little things and then die from the poison...

yeah...I'd be more worried about the puffer nipping though. if there was a way to keep it from nipping...

I know one way... give it it's own tank!

Aw, that stinks. Keep on trying, maybe she'll crack eventually! And I wouldn't recomend putting on in you tank now, zebra danios can be kind of nippy too, so I just don't think it would really work out to well.
