| Puff Resue And Need Help Hi; i purchased another one today and he is accumulating right now-but i have no idea what he is lol but he is beaten up tail bites ect; and he is brown and a yellow bar from eye to eye and about 2-1/2 inches in length, can anyone help lol and he is farily bright for what he's been through lol He came in with 10-12-in a shipment and chewed each other up, i just couldn't leave him there and he was in f/w and they were saying he's a yellow head and brackish-but i have no idea, i just feel very bad for him. He ate 2-snails and about 6-8-b/w man was he hungrey and he's not even in his tank yet. So please help-as i was up all night researching and couldn't find anything on this puff. bella |

| I don't mean offense, but you should do more research before buying puffers. Read up on them thoroughly and feel comfortable identifying them. This way you can go to the store, KNOW what puffers they have in stock and go home home and make sure you have all the proper requirments ready for that that paticular species of puffer's needs. If you can't ID it, dont buy it, or else you don't know exactly what you're getting into. |

| I am still accumulating him, and i did do the research but there is none on this fish-that is why i am asking for help bella
Zoreta-he kind of looks like ceylon only with 1-yellow bar from eye to eye lol and a brown body, they are going to get me the name of him ,the proper one mon; or tues; but that don't seem fast enough as one was dyeing in f/w at the store and the owner said they were brackish[which i have ] but i would like to know what species and they get to be 6-inches, and thanks for the links, he's very hungrey and when the owner get's them he put's them in f/w and i presume that is why one is dyeing. And he is large at the front of him and narrows out towards the back-if that helps until i get a pic up. bella Last edited by Lucy; February 22nd, 2009 at 08:19 PM.

| Maybe a green puffer with muted colors because it's sick? I don't keep puffs, so I don't know what can affect their coloration. |

| I'm sorry if I'm coming off rude, I don't mean to be. All I'm saying is that different puffer species have very different needs (salt, tank size, etc). You should go in knowing what you are getting to make sure you have the best of possible homes to provide for your new puffer. |

| I have to agree with John to a point. Some puffers get quite large, some stay brackish throughout their lives, others need full saltwater as adults. |

| I will try and get a pic after awhile when he settles in a little better lol his belly is turning nice and white-thank God and poor baby looks happy, now as i have done quite a bit of research on puff's in general all i have to do is keep him happy, and see about some worm meds soon. He is quite the little man lol his fins going 50-miles an hour when i talk to him and he doe's seem very happy. I may have to put him in a bigger home sooner or later if he turns out to be a big guy-but that's ok too, and if marine that's ok too at least he's alive and being looked after. bella
Ok, Pink- the common name is?? bella Last edited by Lucy; February 22nd, 2009 at 08:24 PM.

| I can see the line in your pic... it is faded though to a light orange. I've seen some of these in person at a fish store and they were also faded. For the tail, clean water of course and Melafix. |
