is that freshwater or brackish?

green spotted puffers are brackish. the dwarf puffers can tolerate freshwater, but i think that they do better in brackish. i'll leave anything more detailed than that to PFP!

They're basically anything but freshwater. Starting out at 1.005 SG (or higher) and moving up throughout their lives seems to boost their immune system. The end goal is from 1.015 SG to full SW.

thanks pink, was sold him as a freshwater puffer but bought marine salt today and gonna gradually get his water right

Great. Raise the SG by no more than .002 a week to let the bacteria catch up with it.

mini dwarf puffer.

i wanted one but they are complicated to take care of and maintain along side with my other fish.

and ive just read they grow to 6 and a half inch, how fast do they grow because now hes gonna need a 30g to himself

Yes, they do need 30gs. They don't grow very quickly though, as they have a very long lifespan of 10+ years. I hear the average is 1" a year. But the earliest you can get him to a fullsized tank to prevent stunting the better.
