I wouldn't do it. Its not that they are very aggressive its just they like to nip at fishes tails or like they are playing with the fish (although the other fish isn;t going to think its funny) lol. I have 4 and they are insane fin nippers, the gourami would probably be the picked on first.

Well, I just bought mine, and before when I was at the pet store, they said that they are very aggressive, and they can only stay with African Cichlids, and possibly Oscars.

Although because the cichlids, and the oscars are aggressive, but the oscars grow big up to 13-14" and the freshwater puffers grow up to 4" only.

dwarf puffer species only get 1 inch long and would be eaten, although they have toxins that could make a fish that ate them sick.

dark ...you really should stop giving advice for a bit until you research a bit more... a poor lil puffer with an oscar or most cichlids, will be gone....no matter what the taste, an oscar will spit it back out but the puffer would be a goner either way

Puffers generally aren't considered community fish at all. They are very territorial, and will kill most fish that are their size and smaller, sometimes even fish that are a bit bigger.
