Dwarf Puffer and coolie loach?

Is that a good combo? I have read many places about the two and I have come up with nothing. The tank would be a 10 gallon with sand, lots of plants like riccia, java moss, java ferns, and a couple of rocks for hiding, and a piece of driftwood too. I have about 6-7 coolie loaches in the tank already, but I want to know if the puffers would be a good combo in that tank.

Kuhlis need more than 10g, in my opinion. They're really energetic little guys, and if they're kept in too small of a tank, they become escape artists. They also need at least three (preferably five) in a tank to be happy. I've got three that seem to be doing well, though I will be adding more eventually.

As far as kuhlis and the dwarf puffer, it's a chance. You'll likely never see the kuhlis, because the dwarf will keep them in hiding, but they stand a chance against it, at least, since they're incredibly fast swimmers.

With 6-7 Kuhlis in a ten g tank it will be fully stocked. The first kuhlis I had were in a ten g tank with two Platys.but by the time they were fully grown the ten was much too small. they would shoot up from the bottom to swim in the water column and knock the Platys winding. I really didn't know better then but do now and would not keep more than three in a ten g.
As for the puffer, I'm not sure he would appreciate the manic behaviour the Kuhlis can display after a water change.
Their both beautiful and unique fish but I personally wouldn't keep them together.

But I bought something like 4 a little while ago and now there are 6-7, so they have bred on there own. I guess I will have to wait for the puffers then, thanks.

If you mean by khuli loach, then I don't think it would be a good idea unless you have a big tank, and a lot of live plants for the loaches to hide into. Plus they get huge too, so I'm thinking it isn't a good idea what so ever.

It will be a risk anyway.

Hey, DarkRevolutions
These posts are old. I know for a fact that Tom has already had his dwarf puffers for at least a month, and I don't think there's any kuhlis with them (not sure about that). I don't think he needs any more advice.

Aside from what PFP said, kuhlis don't get huge. They get long, but because they're so skinny, they don't count for much in the way of bioload.
