Evil Killer Snails

So, before I had any idea of which was up when i comes to fish tanks, I bought this huge freaking snail. The miserable snot ended up becoming a source of fascination to the betta, so he stayed.

Long story short, when all my poor babies were dying from stress and my mother giving them dirty looks (insert tongue in cheek here), the huge snail got moved to the dp tank. Two days later I couldn't find mercury anywhere. His little bones floated up to the tank after I rustled the plants around.

I can't prove it, but I think that horrible rotten snail ate my puffer. I know that I'll pay for it in bad karma, but when I discovered this, I flung the snail into the backyard.

*sigh*

Be careful what lives with your little baby puffs. An enormous snail can be a danger.

im sorry but thats so funny! not about ur loss but the fact that u threw the snail... thats awesome . i heart all animals but sometimes cruelity can be funny.. and ur actions truly were!

so can u actually prove that the snail did this? do u have any other fishies in where they were? i dont keep snails so i wouldnt know but i never thought theyd do something like that..... good thing my little bumblebee goby is a brackish fishie cuz i wanted to get a couple snails. but never did cuz i didnt know if the snails would live. good thing huh?

really sorry to hear about the loss of ur puffer tho... they are so cute!

no, there were no other fish in there. the problem was that this snail was HUGE and voracious. he probably just rolled right over the little puffer and starting squeezing.

I know I shouldn't have flung the snail....but that rat bas....(censor) killed my baby. It is a bit funny...but upsetting too. Tiny snails are great for puffers - they are adorable hunters, but big snails can do horrible things.
