I have just read on another site, that someone has a 90 gallon tank with 3 BP's, assorted Tetras, 2 Loaches & 2 Cory's...They also have a Green Spotted Puffer in there- as part of that "community tank". Is this an option? The puffer I have is in my 10 gallon (for now). I have slowly been getting his water closer to brackish...ideas? Thanks.

I'm hoping someone will come along that knows.....
How big is the GSP? How knowledgable is the fishkeeper?
To pointedly answer your question, the answer is No. In the beginning, they'll all look like they are getting along, especially if the GSP is a juvenile but further down the line, as it gets bigger, the other fish will get terrorized.
As the fish is really a brackish water species, something you already know and are taking care of establishing; kudos to you , sticking it in a tank that is non-brackish will only bring heartache; they will grow larger, have brighter coloration, suffer less disease and live longer in a brackish setup.
I have a spotted puffer, and not an option for tanks with other fish in it. Mine attacked my corries and mollies, and killed a corrie and a molly. So not a good choice. Hope I helped
Cherry is right. Puffers are not generally considered alright with community tanks. In a very heavily planted tank, it might work out, as the puffers generally only attack things they can see. "Out of sight, out of mind" is right on for puffers.
Spotted puffers, as far as I know, are generally brackish, while dwarf puffers are not, they are pure freshwater.
green spotted puffers are definitely brackish and as they mature they will need to be in full marine. They are definitely not community either. I have seen so many shops selling these being kept in freshwater and they always look in such a mess. I don't understand why they dont research more before trying to sell these. Most people suggest raising salinity gradually throughout its "growing up" period. A good site to look at is " www.thepufferforum.com " they have lots of info on there
