Well.... got my mid sized tank empty.. time to prep for a dwarf puffer.questions

Okay... so I finally pawned my few guppies in my mid sized tank over to my mom... so my adf's will go in another tank...
NOW I need to know what kind of substrate to get for a dwarf puffer... should I keep my gravel since it already has bacteria in it and the tank is good and super cycled? I am planning to decorate it w/ tons of plants and hiding places for my little guy when I get him since I have read that they like a lot to view and explore....

any advice on water parameters from experience I am also thinking of breeding... .any advice

I also read they get along w/ oto catfish is this true? I was going to get one to "housekeep"...

I know I have to keep him up in snails for his teeth, and they love to eat them... and what foods they like....

for breeding, your best chance is to google it. but as far as tankmates, i wouldnt add otos unless u hav room for 3, so they arent stressed

Thanks.. interesting reading... I have to go out fish shopping next week for my cichlid tank.. its restocking time... (we only have 5 right now and its time to add to it), so I will get the stuff to prepare my tank for the puffer then... I can't wait to get started w/ a puffer... I am a fish water cleaning freak so there will be no problem keeping the nitrates and nitrites just right along w/ the ph, etc.... I freak if the chemistry is barely positive in any of my tanks... water change water change water change.....
so the puffer or puffers will be in good hands... the place where I shop have baby puffers right now.. so that is the right age according to the one article that Barbrella put up, they were tiny! I remember seeing them when we were cichlid shopping a week ago and saying how cute when I saw them!
