with a V2Skim

hey all.
I don't have a sump so finding a protein skimmer was harder for me, the person at the LFS suggested this V2Skim, so i thought okay fair enough I'll have it, and i thought the majority of it went on the outside, so i drilled a hole in the side of the lid of the tank (i have a weird tank...don't even go there )
My dad has installed the rest of it, and SO MUCh of it goes on the inside it looks awful... Without sounding offensive to LFS's but it looks like a big undustrial tank now =[ I am so upset with what it looks like, So how can I hide the big tubes and boxes in the tank?
Can I move live rock and lean it against it all, or would that stop the flow? I don't have enough money to by MORE live rock so it might look pretty naked one end if i do this. Anyone else brought this skimmer home to find it horrible ugly?
And its also pretty noisey... Anyone tampered with it to see if the noise can be reduced??

Yes, I have used the bubble stop, maybe its just because it's in my room that I find it noisey at night. Is yours in a sump?

Yes mines in a sump but even when doors open as my dog opens as she likes hermit crabs for dinner there is still no noise
