I recently bought a SeaClear Protein skimmer for System II Aquariums but my tank is not a system II tank. Can this skimmer still work with a tank without a chamber?

I'm not sure, but in looking at a picture of the product there is no chamber to accumulate the upflowing bubbles that are needed for the accumulation of proteins. I would think if you placed this in a tank or sump without a chamber, that the bubbles from the air stone or air diffuser would just get disbursed all over the tank.
