I just made a stupid mistake and purchased A BP without reading reviews so I am just hoping to get a couple questions answered.....
1. Is the CPR Bak-Pak 2R an overall good skimmer?
2. How hard is it to get tuned in?
3. What are the pros and cons of this skimmer?

Congratulations, you've bought one of the better skimmers in the industry. Other highly respected names are Tunze, Reef Octopus, Euro-reef and ASM.

I have read that after the break in period that it is a very consistent skimmer and takes very little adjustment. While it is breaking in you will likely have to adjust it rather frequently.

Well it's a HOB skimmer so it won't be as efficient at collection as an in-sump model. However for a first skimmer it should be a good experience.
