I dk much about SW. All I can say is get the best skimmer you can afford, that fits your tank. Also see if you can find those scimmers on line. Google them or something.

What kind of tank is this? 300 liters is about 80 gallons, right? Fish only? Reef? Why not build a sump and put the skimmer down there?

the tank is a ferplast camen, its going to have about 20kg of LR.That was going to be one of the options but it worked out too costly plus someone said to me that to have a sump i would have to have my tank drilled, for the feeds? im not sure what the best way to do it is.

you dont have to drill tank you can buy a over flow box to hang on side ,,a sump is not really expensive mine cost me less then a external filter,, many people due to the credit chrunch are closing tanks down in the uk so s/hand spares on a auction site are very cheap at the moment ,,
out of the 2 skimmers i would go with the deltec mce as with the red sea they are very hard to setup and you are constantly adjusting them unlike the deltec once you have set then you dont have to play with to get it runnin properly and if you had a sump you could go for the mce600 which is a lot better then the 300

I have a Coralife 125 Super Skimmer. Since it's broken in it's been producing some nice skimmate (sp?). Very thick, black/green/brown gunk that would otherwise be in my tank. For the price, I don't know if you can beat it. It did take a while to break in, but once it did and I got it adjusted, it's been great.

I'm running an overflow box and it's been working fine. People say they can lose suction and you can overflow the tank, but I have not experienced that. It has not lost suction once since I've set it up. I have a 75 gallon tank and I think the PF-800 from Eshopps is perfect (it's what I have). I flow about 400gph through the sump and with the "hofer gurgle buster" it's very quiet. About the only thing I can hear on my tank is the fans for the lights.
