i was wondering if you had any protein skimmer recommendations like types and costs?

I have been using Coralife Super Skimmers on both my reef tanks and I like them. Depending on what size tank you are putting it on, they start at just over $100. I have never used the AquaC Remora myself, but quite a few people on the forums have said good things about them. I believe they start at a bit more than $150. Both have more expensive versions than what I quoted...just depends on your tank size/needs.

I agree with max but they are pricy .
Ihave a 40gl and the prizm hang on , its ok .
my 90gl had the berlin and i loved it after some tweaking it was awesome.
but berlin was in sump.

i just put up the prizm hang on last night and it works great ,water is so clear today , think im going to get another for my 20gl,about 100 and is great so far
