coralife SS

I purchased the coralife superskimmer for up to 65 gallon tanks. I set everthing up per directions, and after about a week still wasn't getting anything. Anyways I let the water level fall below where I like to keep it and it "slowly" started to work. As soon as I brought the water level back up to normal it quit bubbling up to the cup again. Actually I never have had the cup collect yet. Am I just an idiot or is this think real touchy to get it going?

Is it set up HOB, or in sump? How far below the surface is the pump intake? Is the adjustment valve (the one in the water) turned all the way up now? What has happened as you changed dialed up the water-level dial?

I have that same skimmer and it seem to work pretty well. I have mine sitting in the sump. As sgould mentioned, the valve by the pump should be wide open by now. Then adjust the top valve until you see the main bubble level about 1/2" to 1" above the red seal.

You may have to do some adjusting over the next week until you find the sweet spot. And keep in mind, if you do have a sump, the level of the bubbles will move depending on the level of the water in the sump.
